Metodologia: o jornalista Joel Levy, do site Toronto Is Awesome, avaliou 40 diferentes hambúrgueres de 40 diferentes casas de Toronto. Tem hambúrguer para todos os paladares e níveis de fome, ou gula. Sua análise utilizou os seguintes critérios para todos eles:

• O sabor: se é bom, muito bom, super ou demais de bom!
• Lambança: se faz um pouco de lambança, se faz lambança, se faz muita lambança ou se vira um caos.
• O preço: se está abaixo de $5, se está entre $6 e $10 ou entre $11 e $15 ou na casa dos $16 ao $20 ou acima de $21.
• O local: se foi num fast food, numa lanchonete, num bar, num restaurante ou num restaurante desses chiques.
• A variedade: se tem uma versão vegetariana, se tem sem glúten, se tem um pátio ao ar livre para devorar o lanchão e se a casa oferece bebida alcoólica.

Enfim, caso você queira conferir se o tal infográfico está correto mesmo e fazer um tour do hambúrguer em Toronto, não é nada que umas voltas no High Park não resolva.

  Corktown Kitchen just opened recently on King East, just East of Parliament. Their burgers are ground in house and can be topped with their house smoked pork belly. Buns here vary as they get what is fresh and available each day at the St Lawrence Market down the street.

• Harvey's

  Classic Toronto. The first Harvey's was located on the southeast corner of Yonge Street and Observatory Lane in Richmond Hill. The flame grilled burgers were one of the first to allow you to choose your toppings and have it prepared in front of you.

• Holy Chuck

  Holy Chuck prides itself on their burgers. Meat is ground every hour in house and their creations have earned them top honours from critics like Joanne Kates. They are also one of the burger venues that offer a foie gras burger called The Holy Duck burger which features 2.5oz of Foie Gras on top of a single patty with double smoked bacon, truffle oil and pure Canadian maple syrup.

• Marben

  Marben's burger is made with braised rib and served with branston pickle, aged cheddar and fries. The burger is cut in half and seared on both sides before serving.

• The Queen and Beaver

  Love these guys. In business for generations and still make a great burger for cheap. Located in Scarborough, this venue is also a proud supporter of local youth hockey teams. Awesome!

• Richmond Station

  Another one of the city's best burgers. Parts of the cow that are not used for steaks and other menu items are used to make the centre portion of this burger. The meat is rolled and placed into the fridge before being removed, cut in slices and then wrapped in fresh ground meat to create the outer shell. Super delicious. Did I mention Homemade beet relish!

• The Rude Boy

  Had a sunny side up egg on top of my burger at The Rude Boy. Love what these guys are doing and they have super friendly staff. Their parmesan fries are also delicious.

• South St. Burger Co.

  The New York Fries burger chain has come to Toronto and offers so many toppings that you can select like at Harvey's. I was pleasantly surprised by how good their burgers were and I love having so many toppings to choose from.

• Square Boy

  Another Toronto Institution, this Donlands and Danforth burger and souvlaki spot is super cheap (burger, fries, pop - $4.95) and is always busy. The quality is not top notch but the price is great.

• Tallboys Craft Beer House

  Tallboys Craft Beer House sells all tallcans of Ontario Craft Beer as well as having a selection of interesting burgers. Their Kimchee burger is very good for this Koreatown location.

• The Carbon Bar

  Another one of the best burgers I had can be found at this Queen East restaurant. With a menu that showcases their passion for cooking meat, it is no wonder why their burger is top notch. It comes with oak smoked bacon, chili gouda cheese, pickles, mustard mayo and fries.

• The Drake

  The Drake burger is 6oz of Cumbrae's dry-aged beef with a house-made milk bun, Perth bacon, aged cheddar, Russian dressing (like a big mac), pickles and hand-cut fries. Enjoy a burger, a beer and their awesome patio in the summer.

  The Federal has another one of my favourite burgers. The Four Guys is a classic burger with American processed cheese, bacon and all the fixings. Balance of sweet, savoury, salty, and tangy, griddle smashed and modelled after a classic fast food burger.

• The Good Son

  Vittorio Colacitti's restaurant serves up their Cheeseburger with Housemade Cheese, Russian Dressing and Hand-Cut Fries. The top Chef Canada contestant knows burgers and regularly competes in burger competitions in Toronto.

• The Harbord Room

  Everyone's favourite burger really earns its reputation. Make sure to eat this burger quick as it is at its prime in the first few minutes after being served. One of the best burgers in the city.

• The Stockyards

• TOMA Burger Addiction

• Victor Restaurant

  Located inside the Hotel Le Germain near Roy Thomson Hall, Victor Restaurant's Big Vic Burger comes with caramelized onions, Boston lettuce, tomato, aged cheddar, Russian Dressing and double smoked bacon.

• Wahlburgers

  The Wahlburgers decided to make Toronto the home of the first Wahlburger chain. The original Wahlburgers is in Hingham, Massachusettes where the famous Wahlberg family is from. Their Toronto location is a bar, a sit down family type restaurant and a fast food restaurant. It is located by the Skydome so it catches a lot of the Toronto sports crowd.

• Wallace & Co.

  Wallace & Co. is a small neighbourhood diner that is nestled in the junction triangle. Very nice people and a super cool aesthetic.

• The Whippoorwill Restaurant & Tavern

  The biggest surprise for me was the burger at The Whippoorwhil. Their burger is one of the best in the city. Not only is their burger good but these guys do some incredible home-cut fries. Ask the chef about what goes into these burgers in fries. Very Awesome.

• Wild Burger

  All types of meats can be found at Wild Burger. Beef, Chicken, Lamb, Salmon, Crab, Cod, Portobello and Tuna, Bison, Boar, Elk, Venison, Duck, kangaroo, rabbit, ostrich and camel burgers can all be found at this Mt Pleasant and Eglinton spot.

• Yellow Griffin Pub
